This is a tool I developped during my last year at MoPA for my thesis film.

It came about because I wanted to gain time when setting up the compositing scenes in order to spend the most time on the artistic element of compositing.

Here is how it works (using Python script and Prism environment variables):

– From the selected node, the tool automatically detects the AOVs that are considered light layers (with special AOV name formatting).

-The tool then creates all the necessary shuffle, remove, unpremult, merge and premult nodes with proper name and parameters, and connects them together to recreate the beauty. Other nodes can very easily be added to the script set-up.

– The artist is then free to modifiy the lights as wanted.
