This is a setup developped in only a few days for a very short film called “Cinemarmot”.
I designed it because we needed the groom of the characters to have some level of collision for a more lifelike feel, but couldn’t afford based on time and ressources to simulate them.
Here is how it works:
– The guides of the groom collides with itself and the character’s body and additionnal assets in vdb form, giving it a more lifelike feel than only using a guide deform.
– The setup also works directly in real time when moving assets in the scene.
